Part of a nursery rhyme that I learnt as a child is famous chorus “Girls are made of sugar and spice, and all things nice…” Back when they wrote that poem, it was still far away from when women would take on equal roles in the market place, join the army, lead protests, and bring home more money than their spouses do.
Don’t get me wrong - I’m a traditional girl at heart who believes family precedes career. I’m not exactly a good example though, seeing that I’m neither married nor have kids of my own. But these days, costs of living, goods, and complexities that are developing in our social, economic and global networks are rising rapidly. These changes are forcing women to take leadership in a world that seems to have fast forwarded into the future without any preparation.
So here I am, caught between aspirations of tradition - girls being sweet and all things nice - and the reality of surviving in the corporate jungle where women have to be just as tough, or tougher than their male colleagues, learn to take leadership roles and responsibilities, and manage people and their business in a dynamic and entrepreneural global environment.
This site is a combination of all of these subtle tangents, as I yak as girls do on all things that concern us, while sharing what technology has enabled us to share online, in this webspace. I hope you have a fun time, and my hope is that you will be intellectually engaged in what you read on my site.
